Hashimoto’s can look different from person to person, but there are several hallmark symptoms. Many patients experience a combination of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms.
Chronic fatigue
Persistent exhaustion that doesn’t improve with rest. Many patients feel drained even after a full night of sleep.
Brain fog and poor concentration
Difficulty focusing, slowed thinking, memory lapses, or feeling mentally ‘cloudy.’
Weight gain or difficulty losing weight
Especially when lifestyle efforts don’t seem to work, due to slowed metabolism and hormone disruption.
Cold intolerance
Feeling unusually cold, having cold hands and feet, or sensitivity to cooler temperatures.
Hair thinning or hair loss
Particularly at the scalp or outer eyebrows, often accompanied by brittle hair or dry skin.
Mood changes
Anxiety, low mood, irritability, or depression, often tied to hormonal and inflammatory shifts.
